Pulwama, May 17 (KNO) : One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Panzgam area of Pulwama An official confirmed that one militant has been killed and operation is on in the area. In initial exchange of fire one militant has been killed and operation is on , he said. Earlier nocturnal gunfight raged between militants and government forces in panzgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district An official told KNO that a joint team of forces including army’s 55 RR and SoG Pulwama cordoned off Panzgam after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area. As the searches were intensified towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fired upon government forces which was retaliated resulting in an encounter. As per local sources firing has stopped and search operation is on in the area. Two to three hizb militants are believed to be trapped.(KNO)
